Entriq Helps RTL Online Go on Demand
Entriq Provides Subsidiary of Germany's Leading Private Broadcaster with Full Security and License Management Solution
CARLSBAD, Calif. (April 17, 2007)—Entriq has been commissioned to provide DRM solutions to RTL online for its new video-on-demand service called RTL NOW! Entriq provides pay media solutions for broadcasters and content owners looking to protect, monetise and securely deliver multi-media content; RTL represents another world-leading broadcaster selecting Entriq's innovative pay media technical solution.
The newly launched RTL NOW! offers viewers, in Germany, the chance to watch hundreds of hours of quality programming, in their own time. From 'Deutschland sucht den Superstar', Germany's own Pop Idol, to the cult soap 'Gute Zeiten, schlechte Zeiten' or the popular U.S. dramas 'CSI' and 'CSI Miami,' viewers can use the RTL NOW! to catch up on episodes missed or, for selected shows, see certain episodes before they go to air. RTL online's chief executive Sushel Bijganath commented, "The essential prerequisite for such a service for our viewers, which we plan to continually expand over the coming months, is a technically reliable and, above all, secure platform. Thanks to the Entriq powered solution we can distribute our content securely while guaranteeing that all the licensing rights, especially those of our international partners, are reliably protected." "We are delighted to be working with RTL online and help give their viewers a broad choice of content, when they want it, at a compelling price," added Entriq CEO Jan Steenkamp. "Indeed our work with RTL reinforces our reputation as a global leader in the field of pay media."
